Granny Square Central

Recently I’ve been working on many Granny Squares… Continuously. I’m aiming to make an afghan for my youngest 8-Year-Old sister.

This design was inspired by Attic24’s granny squares… I loved the look of hers so much that I adapted it into my own version!

I’m not too keen on the pink and green one so I might leave that colour combo out. I’m hoping to do some blue and green combos, maybe add the mixed yarn colour in there as well. I dont want to have more than 8 different types, more like 6 (but I doubt I can put such a small limit on it). We’ll see how it goes!

This will be my big summer project. I’ve also been experimenting with a lot of different patterns and colour swatches… I’m hoping to do a bright blue red and yellow granny square afghan after this one! I get so wrapped up in new projects…. the problem is always finishing them.

That’s all for now! Starting tomorrow night, the rest of my week will be spent up in the Rocky Mountains by a fire in a cozy cabin. The perfect place to study and crochet. I have a few mini projects in mind… we’ll see what I come up with before I head home to Ontario next Tuesday!

Happy Spring Break Everyone!

My first piece of clothing (and second completed project!) This slouchy hat (free pattern here) I made this afternoon probably took me a good 3 hours of work to finish. I’m rather happy with how it turned out and that it actually fits! I highly recommend everyone to try the pattern, although the written descriptions can be a bit tricky (message me if you need help!)

A New Start.

I originally made this account as a writing journal. But since my rambles are best kept private, I’m converting it to my little storage box for all my ongoing crochet projects.

I hope to one day do “how-to-crochet” tutorials on youtube for you and include them here for you all. But until then,  I will update with what I’ve been working on and progress pics.

For the past two semesters of my nursing degree, I have been slowly but surely working on this Granny Ripple Afghan for my little sister. I stayed up until 3am last night finishing it and adding all the little finishing touches. Here are some full and detailed shots for you all :)

I hope this post has inspired you to try your own crocheting project! Until next time…
